A Day for the People, Not the Powerful
On June 14, President Trump plans to transform our nation’s Flag Day into a military spectacle: tanks rolling down Pennsylvania Avenue, fighter jets roaring overhead, and roughly $45 million of taxpayer dollars spent on a celebration of him. Pro-Choice Minnesota believes Flag Day should honor all Americans, not one man’s ego. That’s why we’re joining the No King’s Day protests nationwide—and mobilizing here in the Twin Cities.

Trump’s Authoritarian Turn on Reproductive Rights
Since returning to office, President Trump has:
Revoked critical health-care protections, including Biden-era emergency abortion safeguards.
Reinstated the global gag rule, cutting international family-planning funding and hampering contraception and HIV prevention worldwide.
Pardoned anti-abortion extremists by halting prosecutions under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act.
Terminated Title X grants, endangering care for over 800,000 low-income people who rely on public funding for birth control and screenings.
Installed Cabinet members who openly oppose abortion and vow to restrict access to life-saving medications like mifepristone.
These aren’t mere policy debates—they are an assault on reproductive justice. When the federal government punishes clinics, providers, and patients, it chips away at the very idea that everyone deserves autonomy over their own bodies.
Why June 14 Matters for Reproductive Justice
Reproductive justice encompasses the right to:
Have children—with the healthcare, support, and resources necessary.
Not have children—free from coercion, stigma, and barriers to contraception.
Parent in safe communities—where families thrive without discrimination.
On No King’s Day in Minnesota, reproductive justice advocates will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with labor unions, civil-rights groups, environmental organizers, and faith communities. Together, we’ll show that attacks on reproductive freedom are part of a broader authoritarian agenda—one that undermines democracy itself.

The Stakes Couldn’t Be Higher
We’re witnessing a historic moment: a president flaunting military power on our streets, pardoning extremists, and stripping away rights by executive decree. If we allow our freedoms to be chipped away—first abortion, then contraception, then broader healthcare protections—what comes next?
No King’s Day is our chance to push back. It’s a day to stand up for the simple yet revolutionary idea that no one—not a king, not a president—is above the law, and everyone deserves autonomy, dignity, and justice.
Join Pro-Choice Minnesota on June 14—because our democracy, our bodies, and our futures depend on it.
Together, we’ll show that real power belongs to we the people, not me the king.
