New Leader of NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota
St. Paul, Minn-It is with excitement that NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota announces the hiring of an Interim Executive Director effective June 1st. Linnea House will fill the leadership role as the Board of Directors search for a permanent Executive Director. Linnea House will replace outgoing Executive Director, Derek Burrows Reise, who is leaving the organization after five years to be a full-time dad. Linnea has previously served as the President of the Board of Directors of NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota Foundation and has several years of experience working for reproductive health access and privacy in Minnesota. Linnea said, "I'm thrilled to accept this position at NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota. This is an exciting time for the reproductive rights community-we have made great progress at the state level, with the recent passage of the EC in ER bill in both the House and Senate. However, we continue to face challenges in protecting women's rights, as the recent Supreme Court ruling has shown. This is a pivotal point in the reproductive health movement, and I am honored to be a part of this movement." We welcome Linnea in her new leadership capacity at the state’s largest grassroots pro-choice organization. She will be able to be reached at linnea@prochoiceminnesota.org. LINNEA HOUSE BIO: Linnea House has worked in the reproductive health field for over 8 years, most recently with Midwest Health Center for Women and Pro-Choice Resources. She started her work in the movement as an intern at NARAL in 1995. She has a Bachelor's Degree in English and Women's Studies from St. Olaf College, and a Master's Degree in Non-Profit Management from Hamline University. Linnea credits her feminist parents for her passion for women's rights and equality. She lives in Minneapolis with her pro-choice husband, and two young sons.
